Aids and Adaptations
If you are having difficulties in your house which may be helped by some modifications or adaptations, such as a grab-rail, a ramp or a walk-in-shower, you should, in the first instance, contact an occupational therapist. If they are in support of your request they will make recommendations to your housing association and assist you with this.
Adaptations will depend on how suitable your home is to being adapted. In some instances any adaptations may be subject to available funding. The housing association will be able to give you further advice in respect to this.
Associations are also happy to assist households with special needs to identify support services to help you to live comfortably and independently in your own home. Generally, any specific requests should be put in writing to your association.
