Bield Housing Association

Bield Housing Association was established in 1971, and is a leading and innovative provider of high quality appropriate housing, care and support services for older people. Bield provides housing and/or community services to an estimated 15,000 older people across Scotland. The Association employs over 1,150 staff in housing developments, care homes and projects throughout Scotland and has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

The association has 285 properties within Argyll and Bute, all of which are designed for older people.  All flats are self contained and designed for independent living for older people, being compact and easy to look after.  Properties are located in Rothesay, Dunoon, Oban, Helesburgh, Innellan, Kirn and Dunbeg.

All sheltered and very sheltered housing schemes have a Scheme Manager who provides support to tenants, particularly during emergencies.  When the Scheme Manager is off duty a 24-hour emergency call service is provided.  Some schemes have communal facilities such as a lounge for use by tenants, guestrooms for visitors, laundry facilities and hairdressing room.
