Cost of renting from a housing association

Anyone aged 16 or over can apply for a housing association property.  An example of the average rents charged by each housing association is given below.  It is worth remembering that the rents below are simply a guideline and that actual rents can vary depending on house size, location and level of service.  For example, rents may be higher in some areas because things like cleaning of communal areas, heating or hot water are included in the rent.

If you are applying for a house and would like a clearer idea of what the rent might be, please contact any of the associations for more assistance.  If you think that you might need financial help to pay the rent, you might find the ‘Housing and Money’ section of this site useful.

*ACHA was established in 2006 following a transfer of properties from Argyll and Bute Council.  Information about rent levels will be added as soon as possible.

As the national housing associations in Argyll and Bute have a large number of sheltered and very sheltered properties, the rent levels vary depending on the level of support provided.  To find out about the rents charged by the associations in Argyll & Bute please contact them directly.
